We read that Loulé is a beautiful town with a historic core. Well, let's check it out! It's really pretty there, there's a pedestrian zone with small shops and cafes. In the Mercado, a large market hall, we buy bread and cheese. There's also a fish section with fresh fish, there are some real experts there!
And now we're heading towards the coast. On the N 125, the coastal road, the presence of motorhomes becomes more intense again. At a roundabout, there's a big Lidl with Aldi and parking. Let's go 😀
On the way to the coast, we pass a prohibition sign - no caravans, no motorhomes - which we generously ignore, after all, we don't want to sleep here. Praia Benagil is supposed to be wonderful. However, the coordinates from the book lead us to a curve right by the sea instead of a parking lot. The parking lot would have been two curves earlier.... Since it's very narrow here, we continue driving and take the next turnoff. Great.... Dead end with a club hotel! But we park behind a fellow motorhome and start walking. It was worth it! A great view!
Sometime, Polly doesn't feel like walking anymore. We're glad she can't talk "who said I wanted to go to Portugal anyway? Always this stupid walking around...." - you know how it is. Unfortunately for her, she's a dog and has to go through it...
Since the parking spaces on the coast are full - we see as we pass by - we want to go to a reservoir behind Silves. And here we are. Alone and with a beautiful view, hoping for a quiet night.
