In comparison to empty Rome, it is incredibly crowded here. Tour buses unload masses of tourists starting at 9 o'clock, there is one restaurant after another on the streets, and like in Greece, the operators try to lure the guests into their stores. The campsite is small and full, at night you can hear the trains and the sirens of the ambulances. Nevertheless, it was an experience today. If you know Olympia on the Peloponnese, you can imagine Pompei, only 20 times larger. We were on the road for 5 hours and certainly didn't manage half of it. The thunderstorm yesterday was intense but not noticeable anymore today.
