Weekend trip in the south

During the weekend, I went on a trip with my community to the south of the country, specifically to Gangjin and Namhae. We set off early on Friday morning (6 am), which proved to be more difficult than expected due to a gathering the night before. Once all 25 people had arrived, we headed south in a premium bus, which truly was premium with its comfortable seats.

First, we went to Gangjin, where we visited the small fish market and had lunch afterwards. Of course, we guys didn't pay attention to the time and ordered the wrong food. So we had to finish the delicious meat dish within 15 minutes to stay on schedule for the trip. Despite rushing the food, the restaurant was a humorous experience due to the language barrier and sitting on the floor. After that, with full stomachs, we went to a nearby small island where we took a walk, and some took a zipline back to the bus - I preferred to walk back and enjoyed the spectacle while sipping a cappuccino. After a visit to a Minhwa (traditional Korean paintings to ward off spirits, later used for decoration) museum, where we were rushed through, we went for a final stroll in an ecopark. Instead of booking a hotel, we had a 'Homestay Experience', meaning we all stayed with different Korean families. It sounded pretty cool at first because we all thought the families would speak some English and we could communicate. However, it turned out not to be the case, and we tried to communicate at least somewhat with a translator. Thus, it was rather a delicious classic Korean dinner and breakfast. However, the fish in the morning was a bit of an acquired taste. Oh, and the family had a full-body massage chair in which I almost fell asleep in the evening :D

For Saturday, a temple and Namhae were on the agenda. Namhae is a coastal city that has a small Golden Gate Bridge (Namhaedaegyo Bridge). There was also a flower festival on the bridge, so we entertained ourselves with tug of war, paper bag throwing, balloons, and more. For dinner, we had fish (red snapper). After that, we went crab fishing, which required a lot of patience and motivation. Sadly, apart from the Koreans, no one had enough ability or patience, so we returned to our accommodation empty-handed. There, we dyed a scarf in classic Korean colors and settled into our rooms. However, when we saw them, each of us wondered where the beds were, and when the answer 'in the closet' came, we all realized it would be an uncomfortable night. So, we threw a small closing party to bring about sleep. Before that, we had cleared the beer supply in the small village shop.

On the last day, after breakfast, we headed to a beach where we unfortunately found a dead turtle. After the girls took pictures with the dead turtle, they dug a grave (all captured on Instagram...). We then drove along the coast, stopping at several beautiful viewpoints before reaching the 'German Village', our last activity. I can now say about its origin after a conversation with a bratwurst seller (who studies in Cologne and is visiting home):

In the mid-19th century, many Koreans emigrated to Germany for work. Upon their retirement, they returned to Korea and settled in this village, as the mayor offered them the land cheaply. Thus, the 'German Village' was created. However, I didn't find it very German at all. The beer brands I had never heard of, the French music at the entrance to the village, or the poor-quality bratwurst might have contributed to my assessment.
