Actually, we wanted to go to Table Mountain today, but the cable car is currently closed for maintenance and with Mom's slightly injured leg, we didn't want to hike up. So we decided to take part of the bus tour again and this time get off at different stops. We first got off at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and took a brief, really brief, look around. Well, plants just aren't my thing. Then we got off at the World of Birds, which I thought was really cool because you can walk through some of the cages and the birds fly around you. Thank goodness we made it through without any of the creatures pooping on us. But it does make you wonder, when you've recently seen the animals in the wild, if they really need to be locked up.
At Hout Bay, we took a small boat trip to Duiker Island, a small rocky island where many seals reside.
For the sunset, we took another boat trip from the V&A Waterfront. The city with its mountains, Devil's Peak, Table Mountain, Lion's Head, and Signal Hill is beautiful from the sea, and even more beautiful at sunset. And we were lucky again to see whales. Since the lights of Cape Town were already beautiful from the boat, we decided to take a ride on the Ferris wheel to see Cape Town from above, since we couldn't go up Table Mountain.
