Goodbye Australia: THANK YOU Perth, you were so good to us

Pubblicato: 23.04.2024

The time has come, we are leaving Australia and traveling to our very last destination. I am currently sitting at the gate for our flight to Kuala Lumpur. A little sad, a little bad-tempered but just incredibly grateful. And as I write this I have a big smile on my face.

The fact that we were allowed to be here. To travel to the last continent in the world that we were still missing (okay, except Antarctica - but nobody really counts that) makes us proud, happy and just grateful.

In conclusion, Australia is a bit like the Eiffel Tower, Hollywood or Miami. People talk about it as being a bit bigger than it actually is. It reminds me sooooo much of America, for example. And yet the feeling of being here was always a bit special.

And: Western Australia is completely next level! Because the nature and the beaches are simply gorgeous and Perth is a wonderful city that we would emigrate to tomorrow without hesitation.

Disadvantage of Australia: it is really very expensive 😅. Even more expensive than Germany... especially when it comes to food and drink. But especially in Perth it was worth every cent to us.

We used the last two days to get to know the city and the surrounding area better. As the temperature dropped a little (22-24 degrees), we were unfortunately unable to go to the beach for the last few days. There are worse things.

I would particularly like to highlight the Kings Park and Botanical Garden in Perth. There you can admire ALL Australian plants and you also have a unique view of the city and its two rivers.

Otherwise, Perth somehow seems much smaller than it is. The city center is also smaller and cute. It seems a bit like a small town.

Today we visited the Perth Mint goldsmiths. There you can see the largest gold coin in the world. It weighs a ton and is therefore worth around 60 million euros. Crazy!! We were also able to hold a 12 kg gold bar - wohoooo millionaire for seconds hahaha.

Afterwards we visited a national park and said goodbye to koalas (we saw three in the trees) and kangaroos. There was even a baby - super cute.

Now we're off to Kuala - we just want to enjoy the last three days there. We'll report back.

Ja wirklich, dem kann ich mich nur anschließen. Ich hoffe aber, dass auch aus/über Kuala Lumpur noch etwas kommt. =) 🥰
