Oggi il programma prevedeva prima di tutto la Landesgartenschau Höxter. In effetti, le condizioni meteo erano ottimali per un tour del genere, caldo ma non afoso. Cosa si può...

The solo tour actually only starts today: Greta and I are still having breakfast together in Bodenfelde (entertained by a round of more or less sprightly retirees) which we don't want to unnecessarily drag out, so we wait three-quarters of an hour at the train station for her train back to Bielefeld.
While waiting, the rain started, which didn't stop when the train left.
I waited for just under an hour, then it let up a bit and I had sufficiently waited, so I set off. The mood was rather gloomy and rainy, it drizzled a bit, then it stopped, occasionally I took shelter. I found it interesting that on the first 15 km towards Hann.Münden, I counted about 50 cyclists coming towards me, at least 30 of them heavily loaded, the other 20 had booked luggage transport or were on a day trip. After that, however, there was significantly less oncoming traffic! But I had the impression that I was cycling quite anti-cyclically, there were noticeably fewer cyclists going in my direction.
Otherwise, not much was happening, the first km were still quite nice, idyllic, as often, but from the Hemeln ferry, the cycle path only followed the road and was no longer very attractive, maybe I was also on the 'wrong' side.
Hann.Münden is still a very beautiful old half-timbered town, but for my first street music experiment that I had considered beforehand, there didn't seem to be enough going on, at least that was my feeling. Maybe I just didn't dare, it always takes overcoming to expose oneself like that.
From Hann.Münden (HMÜ) I made my way to Witzenhausen-Blickershausen, where an old musician colleague lives with his wife, with whom I actually played street music during my studies (in the Stone Age or so). I kind of caught him off guard with my call, we hadn't had any contact for 40 years, but he held up well and also offered me to stay with them. This little trip from HMÜ to Blickershausen was beautiful again, very close to nature, nothing going on, very sparsely populated between the villages (very different from East Westphalia).
I was warmly welcomed, also got dinner, we sat together all evening (with his wife) at the table, and talked about the old times and the times since then. Maybe a little backward-looking too, but I thought it was okay. After all, we still had something to say to each other after all those years. (I had also tried to revive two other ancient and unkempt friendships from that time, but both were not reachable or on vacation.)
Today 84 km, total 261.
