Hvammstangi - F35 - Hveravellir

September 21, 2023: At night the northern lights appeared above us again...but weaker than the first time; And what's more, it was so cold that we preferred to stay in the car this time. In the morning when the weather is good we continue towards Kjalvegur, i.e. the F35, this time from the north. It's always amazing how different a landscape can be when you drive in the opposite direction (and ok: the weather also played a big role). In the early afternoon we arrive at Camping Hveravellir and enjoy the hot pot in the sunshine, with a view of the Hofsjökull (glacier). As an exception, dinner is served away, in the hotel restaurant that belongs to the campsite (Vegilasagne and baked veggie something). And then an unforgettable experience: when the outside temperature was around 0 degrees, we climbed into the pool again in the dark and the northern lights glowed above us!
