At 07:00 the alarm clock woke me up. After breakfast, I took the bus at 07:45 to start the first day of school at 08:30.
Arriving at the school, the names of the new students were already listed on a screen. The ladies behind the help desk greeted me with a kind and friendly Good Morning. After submitting the ID and personal information, each new student had a placement interview. Afterwards, everyone had breakfast.
After breakfast, there was a short school orientation. This mainly consisted of the school not tolerating lateness, and in the worst case, ending with expulsion.
Afterwards, we received our timetables and were assigned to classes. I was completely surprised to be placed in the Elementary A2 class.
My new classmates welcomed me warmly and immediately thought of chocolate when they heard that I came from Switzerland.
The first day of school ended at 14:30. After school, our class, consisting of people from Arabia, Italy, Brazil, Turkey, and Chile, went to a bar and chatted.
So, the first day was over.
Conclusion: The school is really strict, but very fair and kind. Questions can be asked anytime and the teachers focus on you.
