Today our destination is Fegen, south of Gothenburg. On the way, we will take a detour to Äskhult in North Halland, with an open-air museum, nature and cultural reserve. The small village consists of four farms - Göttas, Jönsas, Bengts, and Derras - on a ridge. The history of the village has been well-documented for at least four hundred years. In the Förlanda municipality, there is evidence that taxes were first collected from the four farms in Äskhult in the year 1600. The oldest buildings in Äskhult date back to the first half of the 17th century, but the majority of the eleven buildings are from the 18th and 19th centuries. Around the end of the 19th century, about 35 people lived in Äskhult. Between 1890 and 1914, 20 of them emigrated to America. The last village resident died in 1964. Today, Äskhult belongs to a foundation.

At our destination, Fegen, we will take a short walk along the lake. The lake, also called Fegen, is a nature reserve and bird sanctuary. Here, you can not only go canoeing, but also go fishing (there are said to be 17 species of fish in the lake), hiking, swimming, and biking. On our way back, we encounter a Vasa with his two wives, and we can film them wonderfully. Just before we arrive home, an elk shows up and starts eating. With great joy, we can take close-up photos of it.
