Tag 36 Christchurch

The last full day in indescribably beautiful New Zealand began with a touch of melancholy that it would soon be over.

Exploring the city center with the historic tram, another must do. Christchurch has many historical sites to offer, although there used to be many more before a rather severe earthquake in 2011 destroyed a large part of the city. There are still ruins and reconstruction work to be seen.

Later, a ride on the Christchurch Gondola to a summit from where you can enjoy a great view of the city, Lyttleton Harbor, and the surrounding area with the mountains and beaches.

In the afternoon, saying goodbye to the turquoise blue Pacific Ocean at the beautiful sandy beach of New Brighton.
