We had to venture back into the hustle and bustle of Highway 1 through Auckland. This time, fortunately, we found the car rental much faster than we initially found our way out of there.

The drop-off was also muuuuuch faster than the pick-up. Fortunately, we didn't have to pay anything extra (the key to the safe, which broke when we opened it for the second time (hahaha), also didn't need to be replaced, luckily).

The shuttle took us to the backpacker where we wanted to stay. Since we were spoiled by the off-season, of course, we hadn't booked anything in advance, well everything was full. Okay, on to the next one - also full. We were told that there was something 2 minutes' drive from here. I called there and luckily they still had something available, but it would cost us 200 dollars too!!!

Well, after 15 minutes of struggling to carry our backpacks along the road, we arrived at the aforementioned motel. We got a small apartment with a not properly functioning piano and a TV that was almost bigger than the bathroom 😊. We treated ourselves well and even found a restaurant where we could eat steak - very delicious. We had a lovely and cozy evening - both of us pushing away the next day.
