To really wake up, I dare to jump into the hostel pool, which is now only as warm as the cold pool in the sauna - so I can't stand it for more than 20 seconds. But the sun is already warming up the pool terrace, so it's the perfect start to the day for me. :)
One thing I definitely want to see in Zagreb is the famous cannon shot, which has been fired from the Lotrscak Tower at exactly 12 o'clock every day for 100 years. The shot goes exactly as our tour guide Luka described it. Many tourists gather around the tower, at 12 o'clock the shot is fired, everyone gets startled for a moment, and then the man who fired the cannon opens the window, waves to the crowd like a king, and everyone claps. In fact, this man has been doing this job full-time for 10 years. :-D
After this spectacle, I run back to the hostel directly to say goodbye to Taylor and pick up our luggage. Sunil and I manage to arrive at the meeting point for our carpool to Ljubljana at 1 pm sharp. Our driver, Adi, started in Sarajevo in the morning, so we expected a bit of a delay. But after 20 minutes, he arrives. The drive is okay, except that the three of us have to sit on the back seat until we reach the border. Also, Adi seems to be in a hurry and does not give Sunil much time to get something from his backpack in the trunk. Despite everything, we arrive in Ljubljana safely and in good time, probably much earlier than if we had taken the bus.
It's nice to be back in Ljubljana, this is where my journey started. And this time the weather is much better! And it's even more beautiful when you already have friends here. Ali can host me again. :)
