Lombok Tag 10 Gili Air

Pubblicato: 15.09.2017

The last day on Gili Air was also more than relaxed. Maren spent the morning with her book and enjoyed herself at the Bambu Spa, while I counted the tiles of the pool and planned our further journey. Ultimately, we decided to cross over to Lombok tomorrow using a public ferry and not to return to Bali for now. Bali will be enjoyed again in the last few days. After this decision was made, we strolled towards the center to organize tickets for the ferry. It was once again quick and painless, and with 200,000 Rupiah (12 euros) for the ferry ride and subsequent bus transfer, it was also very cheap. Hotel also found quickly, after 4 days in a bamboo hut and an outdoor shower with musty-smelling saltwater from the tap, it's also okay to stay in a 5-star palace for once. But right now, I don't really care, anything else wouldn't fit this place either. But it must have some catch with the hotel in Lombok, otherwise I can't explain the price for this thing. Let's see.

Since I actually wanted to go to the hairdresser and trim my ends since Ubud, that was the second task of the day. If someone is a fan of Asterix, the search for Passierschein A 38 should sound familiar. Suddenly we were right in the middle of it. Person number 1 sent us to Shop A. Couldn't find Shop A and asked in an electronics store. The guy in the electronics store couldn't speak English and had to wake up his colleague who was sleeping behind the counter. However, even he didn't know the shop. When we left the specialty store, we were practically right across from Shop A. Shop A was closed and a nice lady from a nearby restaurant sent us further to Shop B. But Shop B was apparently a women's salon only, and they roughly described to me where we would find Shop C. We did find Shop C, well, calling it a shop is an exaggeration. It was just a chair with a mirror and a bit of wall. Well, it could be worse. I was already sweating again anyway. For 3.80 euros + 3 euros tip, I got a decent haircut and a shave. In addition, the other two locals who were sitting there, smoking and eating chips, told me how much they would love to travel to Europe to experience the seasons. Friendly, in need of conversation, and relaxed, just like all Indonesians - or Indoians? It's a different mentality here. But unfortunately, let's not deceive ourselves, for the two of them it will probably always remain a dream, with an average income of just under 2,500 euros per year, to travel to Europe. But who knows, almost anything is possible.

Spent the rest of the day by the pool. The sea was not accessible today due to low tide. The tidal range is also about one meter here, and I didn't want to go one kilometer to the edge of the reef today either. Now enjoy the last evening and tomorrow we're off to Lombok.
