Bandhavgarh 2024

Il nostro anno sabbatico è purtroppo finito, ma la voglia di viaggiare non si è placata. Quest'anno l'Hessen offre tre settimane di vacanze pasquali, e abbiamo deciso di tornare ancora una volta dai tigri indiani (e poi di fare snorkeling alle Maldive). Basandoci sulle nostre esperienze di 10 mesi fa, abbiamo ricominciato nel Parco Nazionale di Bandhavgarh. Qui abbiamo fatto 6 safari, durante i quali in 2 occasioni non abbiamo visto nemmeno un tigre. Ma in altre 2 occasioni abbiamo avuto ottime osservazioni, e le restanti 2 erano piuttosto nella media. Complessivamente, abbiamo avvistato 8 tigri nel Bandhavgarh NP questa volta (4 adulte, 2 subadulte, 2 cuccioli) e naturalmente anche molti altri animali.
Dato che siamo stati qui un po' prima dell'anno rispetto all'ultima volta, non faceva tanto caldo - la maggior parte delle temperature massime giornaliere era appena sotto i 40°C, e al mattino una coperta nel veicolo safari aperto era molto gradita.

Our gap year is unfortunately over, but we are still keen on traveling. This year, Marions Easter holidays are 3 weeks long, and we decided to repeat the visit to the Indian tigers and to go snorkeling on the Maldives afterwards. Based on our expiriences from 10 months ago, we started in the Bandhavgarh National Park again - this time going on 6 safari trips into the forest. On two of these trips we did not see any tigers at all. While two of the other trips were rather average, on the remaining two trips we had very impressive sightings. Overall we saw 8 tigers in Bandhavgarh (4 adults, 2 subadults, 2 juveniles), and of course a lot of other animals as well.
As this time we were here earlier in the year, the temperature has not been as hot as last time where we usually had about 40° celsius. This time, a warm blanket in the open safari jeeps was very welcome in the mornings, whilest at noon the 40 was again in reach.
