We decided this morning to take advantage of the campground's offer and use the free shuttle to the city center.
The very friendly chauffeur and his wife told us a lot about Temple Square. He also organized a German-speaking tour for us. A sister of the Mormons, who comes from Germany, tried to bring us closer to the thinking of the Mormons. After a good half hour, she gave up trying to convert us and we said goodbye politely. When we left the holy grail of the Mormons, we also met a Swiss sister from Basel. After that, we tried to see a little more of the rest of the city. We found a nice cafe and satisfied our hunger. Then we returned to the RV park, cleaned up our camper, and drove out to Antelope Island. This island is located in the middle of the salt lake. The drive over the dam is very impressive. It smells of stale water, but the view over the salt lake is all the more beautiful.
The island is home to a rich variety of wildlife. Various species of birds, bison, deer, foxes, and much more can be easily observed from the car. At the end of the island, a historic farm was announced. In truth, it was actually a large junkyard. But it had some interesting old equipment that made the short visit worthwhile.
After returning to the campground, the women got busy washing clothes and cooking in good Mormon fashion, while the boys splashed around in the pool and the head of the family enjoyed a cool drink.
