The journey from Townsville to Cairns felt short by Australian standards. Along the way, we made a quick stop at Mission Beach, where we watched skydivers land.
Upon arriving in Cairns, we checked into our hostel, which had the best free breakfast so far.
The following day, I had to wake up early and take a shuttle bus to the harbor to check in for my day at the Great Barrier Reef.
The boat that took us to our diving and snorkeling spots was almost luxurious and big enough for 200 people. The weather was rainy in the morning, which didn't matter much for diving, but it became beautiful and sunny around noon. The food was delicious, my diving buddy was friendly, and the reef was impressive! All in all, it was an impressive and exciting day.
On the last day in Cairns, Marion and I took one last trip to Port Douglas. The road followed the coast and allowed us to see beautiful viewpoints of the sea. After enjoying a delicious ice cream, we headed back as we had left late due to Marion's job search. On Monday, I had to say goodbye to my travel companion and made my way to Brisbane to spend a few more days with my Australian friends!
