Today, punctually at 11 am after the camping routine (filling up water, emptying the toilet and draining waste water), we set off towards Cairngorm (which is a mountain)... originally we wanted to go for a hike... but due to the bad weather (heavy rain), we changed our plans to take the funicular railway instead. At the valley station, a glance towards the summit (thick fog) is enough to bury the whole endeavor and save the 50 pounds. On the way down, however, we see an impressive rainbow over the valley.
Instead, we make a short stop at a reindeer farm. From here, guided tours are offered to the reindeer herd living here, but we are content with the animals in the enclosure.
Then we continue towards Loch Ness, to the delight of the children, we spend the afternoon at Landmark, a small amusement park. Sophie is very proud that she climbs a wooden tree about 15 meters high and can jump down from a rope.
At around 6 pm, we arrive at our site (No. 11) at the Caravan Park in Drumnadrochit/Loch Ness. A short walk to the nearby supermarket... for dinner we have scrambled eggs.
