Arriving in Australia, I first went to Canberra and spent my first two weeks there and in the surrounding area. It was great to see kangaroos every day, but I will never get used to the spiders. After that, I went to Sydney. The highlight here was attending a horse race at the Royal Randwick Racecourse. I even won some money from betting! The concert by Ronan Keating was beautiful, and overall Sydney is a great city to go out in. Especially when it gets dark, the atmosphere at the Opera House and Harbour Bridge is super nice. After that, I continued to the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The weather was quite unusual this year. First, it was the hottest summer Australia had in a long time, and then autumn brought the most rain and the storm 'Debbie'. Luckily, I was spared from that, and the rain was a welcome cooling for me. There were still enough warm days to go swimming."
'Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember and I remember more than I have seen.'
