On the hottest day of the 'unprecedented heat wave', we went on the famous hiking trail between Coogee and Bondi Beach. After my day backpack gave up on the way due to overuse, it had to be replaced. Thanks to Kmart, we finally took the bus to Coogee, where we started walking in the midday heat at 41 degrees Celsius. We were rewarded with fantastic views of the Sydney coastline. A short swim break was taken at Bronte Beach and befriended a German immigrant who came to Australia by ship in 1959. Then we continued to the famous Bondi Beach. Unfortunately, an exploration of the nearby South Head fell through because Google Maps wanted to lead us through a military restricted area. So we took the ferry back to the city.
