On December 29th, Melissa also arrived in Melbourne.
We spent New Year's Eve with friends in Melbourne and then drove from January 2nd to 5th to Sydney within 4 days.
During the last days in Melbourne, we had an encounter with some very cute penguins and some less cute possums, but see for yourself in the pictures. 😅
Then the journey started along the coast to Wilsons Promotory National Park, which was really huge. We did a few small hikes since we only had one day there and then watched a beautiful sunset at the beach. 🌅
On our way, we stopped at several beaches the next day. At one of these beaches called Pebbly Beach, there were incredibly many wallabies and small kangaroos that were quite tame and really cute. 🦘
On the third day, we spent most of the time driving, but we also went to Jervis Bay, a bay with really beautiful turquoise water, and then to a small town called Kiama, which was also beautiful!
The next day, we did a longer hike to the 'Figure 8 Pools'. The way there was really long, but it was worth it because being able to swim in these natural pools, which were sometimes really deep, was a cool experience, even though the water was pretty cold. One of the pools has the perfect shape of an 8, that's why they are so famous.
We stayed in Sydney for three days before heading to Brisbane for our next road trip. Unfortunately, we had bad weather during these three days and even when it wasn't raining, it was always cloudy, so we didn't get a nice impression of Sydney and were glad to be able to drive towards sunny Brisbane and then fly to Fiji from there. 😍
