What a surprise!

Well, indeed. That's it. Yesterday I found out that an old friend from the Seychelles time will be visiting me. He is originally from Kerala and his mother, his wife, and their two children live here. However, he himself lives and works in Mumbai. So, quite a distance away. A train journey of 11 hours to be precise. After 11 years, we met again. Not much has really changed. We have both just gotten a bit older and rounder! Me with short hair and him with a beard and mustache. Smile

So, I skipped the yoga class and we visited the hotel grounds and talked about the old times and the new ones. A great change of pace!

In the morning, I also skipped the first meditation. I had a strange night and was not in the mood to get up at 6 o'clock. But tomorrow I will definitely join and enjoy the morning calmness and coolness.

The therapy today was the same as yesterday with the forehead oil treatment. It felt so good that I fell asleep! The first time ever!

I was told that I haven't talked much about the food here yet. That's true! You can see from the photos what I choose from the large buffet. 1-2 times rice every day. Because here, there is a different kind of rice every day: with fruits, with nuts, with lemon, with herbs, with spinach, with beetroot, with mint... so it's not a problem for me. The soups are just as varied as the rice. But most of them taste like water with color and a tiny bit of spices. At first, they were as liquid as water. But now you can transport a bowl of it from the buffet to the table, without spilling everything out! At least! But the 'clear vegetable soup' (see picture) is hilarious. Water with fine vegetable strips without any spices! Well... not exactly my thing, this bland concoction! So, I avoid this hospital soup and help myself to the other 3 kinds.

By the way, there's hardly anything spicy here. They have adapted nicely to the guests. But there are pots with various chutneys, lemons, chilies, and other sauces around. So you can always season it to your liking. Pepper, by the way, lowers cholesterol levels (the driver told me). And squeezing lemons over the dal intensifies the taste even more (the restaurant chef whispered this secret tip in my ear).

The breakfast doesn't really impress me. I just can't eat dal or vegetable stuff in the morning! Sorry. No way! So, I just have toast, eggs, and a load of forbidden fruits. Yes, I have a diet plan to lower my sugar levels. But hey, when I'm back home, I'll start eating fruits again anyway. So, I can just leave it out here as well. (Oops, what a wording! But somehow funny and it's challenging my brain! lol)
