Nice

Pubblicato: 18.07.2019

Nice (Spanish for beautiful) truly lives up to its name. This is where the rich and beautiful vacation, and us. From here, you can visit underground lakes, caves, and water springs where you can snorkel. The government quickly recognized the area's potential and regulates access to tourist attractions. They also regulate the price: snorkeling for two hours costs €70, and a cave visit costs €20 for 20 minutes, yes it was expensive. Wild camping is also prohibited, but we found a reasonably affordable campground. And as a bonus, there were a bunch of parrots living in the trees. Restaurants also charge extra for cutlery and service. After 3 days, we sadly left Bonito, we would have loved to do more excursions but simply couldn't afford it. In the end, we only went snorkeling in Nascente Azul, and the photos ttheir cost another €20, which we also didn't want to pay.

Everyone who knew my dad knows how much he loved Brazil, and it makes me think of him a lot here. He always left with one suitcase and came back with two, and we received lots of great gifts. So I assumed Brazil would be quite cheap, but it's not. Well, we also came from Bolivia, where the cost of living is very low. But shopping here is on the same price level as in Germany. Oh well, I guess we'll have to tighten our belts, Egon has already cost us enough.
