Tongariro National Park

Early in the morning at 5 o'clock, my day started. I wanted to hike a short section of the Tongariro Alpine Crossings and had arranged to meet two other Germans at my car at 6 o'clock in the morning. The two of them hiked the whole way. I found it tiring enough to hike back and forth to Mordor, to Mount Doom (about 2 hours). Hats off to Frodo and Sam :p. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and I felt transported to Middle Earth. It was definitely worth it. After that, I drove to Wanganui. This is my stopover before Wellington.
