Although we had to get up at 6:30, we were excited for the day. We took a bus tour to Milford Sound 🏔💦 Besides the majestic mountain scenery, the fiord is known for its waterfalls. When we arrived, we went straight to the boat to explore the fjords from there and admire the individual waterfalls up close. We were fascinated and were so lucky with the weather 🌞
On the way back, we unfortunately missed the "passage" by the boat due to some delay ❌ Currently, only one lane is accessible on a longer stretch to Milford Sound, as the road was partially destroyed by a flood in February. For security reasons, it is also forbidden to drive there by car. That's why we had to go back to the port by bus and wait there for an hour, but we didn't mind at all in the sun 🌞
Unfortunately, the way back to Te Anau felt very long and we were exhausted when we arrived and got in our car to drive to Queenstown today.
We arrived safely and plan to stay here for the next two days 👫🛏🏣
