Us in Noosa: Toilet paper, theories, transit

Pubblicato: 02.04.2020

The day before yesterday Günter stood at the door with a 12-pack of toilet paper, beaming with joy: 'The crisis is over, according to the toilet paper indicator, it must be over soon. The shelves are filled again!'

Hallelujah! You learn to appreciate the small (round) things of everyday life more again! Right now we are sitting at the breakfast table, Maxi is having cereal, Moritz is sleepily typing his 'Science Assignment' on the laptop.
He has to submit it today (online).

Homeschooling! Since this week, all schools are closed here as well. Yesterday, Günter drove Michelle, Maxi's friend from Switzerland, to Brisbane Airport, he also took the opportunity to come back home with a (very expensive!) flight.

Slowly all Internationals (Max+Mo's classmates) are leaving Australia, the concerned parents would rather have them at home! I understand that, I would feel the same way! Fortunately, the four of us are here together, I am really grateful for that!!!

By now, all airlines have suspended their flights to Europe and of course also to Germany. Except for Qatar Airways, they are still flying, but the prices have often doubled. But understandable, as they have to fly here empty!

We have decided to stay in Noosa, we have given ourselves another 4 weeks and hope that the situation will relax a bit: here and maybe also overseas.

Just now this WhatsApp message pops up!
My theory is, you can read the stages of a crisis in WhatsApp messages:

Stage 1: Not taking it so seriously ...
We laugh off the crisis together with toilet paper jokes!

Stage 2: We are frightened ...
We are worried and send each other poetic motivator videos.

Stage 3: We surrender to our fate ...
We try sarcastic gallows humor.

We have now reached stage 3!

Unfortunately, I don't know how many more stages there are ...
