Before we continued on to Victoria, we made a detour to MacMillan Provincial Park. Here, too, there were short, established hiking trails to the south and north of the highway through beautiful forests with huge, old trees. Simply great. Just a lot of tourists for the small trails. When we arrived, the small parking lot was already full, but when we drove back around lunchtime, the road was "exploding" with cars. Running joke: Hiking in flip-flops seems to be totally trendy :-D
Then we drove about 250 km to Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. Our hotel, The Embassy Inn, is very centrally located, right next to the parliament building. We strolled through the city again and went to the harbor. There was also a small stage with music and benches to sit on. The children played and we relaxed.
For dinner we went to The Old Spaghetti Factory. There was a 3 course meal with delicious pasta and finally lasagne for our Garfield, Henriette:-) Who would have thought.
Later I took another walk around the harbor at sunset and when we saw the lights from the balcony, Juliane and I went outside again. How beautiful to watch:-)
