22. Athens - Arrival of the children

Day 22: In the morning, we take public transportation to the center of Athens. Unfortunately, we get on the wrong train at Koropi (one station before the airport). However, we only realize this when we reach the end station and the conductor asks us to get off.

After another half an hour of metro ride, we finally get off at Monastiraki. After a short walk, we reach the main entrance of the Acropolis. By now, we realize that we won't be alone here. In contrast, it was rather peaceful in Delphi! When I think about how it looked like during my last visit 35 years ago, it's hard to believe, and that in the pre-preseason.

Afterwards, we relax on Filopappou Hill. From there, we have a great view of the Acropolis and the city.

Lastly, we take a stroll through the historic Anafiotika (the birthplace of Athens), Plaka, Monastiraki, and the central market.

In the evening, we are very excited about the arrival of the children and we take them to the port of Nea Peramos for a joyful evening at the Italian restaurant 😂
