First day of school

Hello Friends of America,

The weekend is over and our first day of school at a High School starts. My host sister is Gracie and we are going to Saint Ansgar High School.

We started our day with a tour trough the school. Afterwards we went to the classes of our exchange students. In my case the first class was art. There we were free to do what we wanted to do. I started to design a bowl out of clay. Then I went with Gracie to a seminar. We ate lunch in the cafeteria. Today's lunch was chicken noodle soup. My third lesson was Spanish, where unfortunately I could not understand much.
After school, most students have clubs. My exchange partner has volleyball practice every day and I watched it today. After this long day we were home at 6.00 pm.

In summary, it was a very exciting and nice, but also tiring day. We met many students and teachers and got to know another school system.
To get back to the yesterday's entry of Marie-Luise, the school definitely looks like those in the American High School teen movies.

We started our day at 8.15 am with a tour through the school. Afterwards we attended the classes of our exchange students. In my case, the first class was art. There, we were free to do whatever we wanted. I started designing a bowl out of clay. Then I went with Gracie to a seminar, which is similar to free work. In between, we had lunch in the cafeteria. Today, there was noodle soup. In the third period, I had Spanish, where of course I couldn't understand much.
After school, most students have clubs. My exchange partner has volleyball every day, which I watched today. We were home around 6.00 pm after this long day.

In summary, it was a very exciting and beautiful, but also exhausting day. We met many students and teachers, as well as a different school system.
To come back to Marie-Luise's journal entry from yesterday, the school definitely looks like the ones in American high school teenage movies.
