Now it's time to say goodbye

Pubblicato: 17.02.2024

Day 21: Our last night in Guardamar. Tomorrow morning we'll go back to Campo de Guardamar , this huge market. I'm not entirely innocent of this. During our first visit, I bought two beautiful wool blankets at a stand for a total of six euros. Icke had overlooked this stand and that annoyed her so much that we had to be allowed to go there again tomorrow. But cheer up, I tell myself, as long as the sun is shining, everything is only half as bad.

We then set off towards Murcia, more precisely to the Embalse de Santomera reservoir. The Granja de Carmela parking space is located there. Edith and Patje, the couple from Belgium, recommended it to us and - how could it be otherwise? – met at a weekly market. I don't remember which one it was. With so many stalls, stalls and markets, I'm slowly losing track. In any case, let’s take a closer look at this parking space.

For us this means saying goodbye to Guardamar. I would love to be always on the move, always on the street, discovering new things, getting to know new people. But this time it's difficult even for me. Why is that? There are mutliple reasons for this. We have an optimal parking space here in a small public parking lot right by the sea. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to sleep without the gentle sound of the waves. A well-stocked supermarket can be reached on foot in ten minutes. There are beautiful paths through the city, for example Ickes Palmenallee, or great restaurants with Spanish, Chinese and Indian specialties. Of course there are more, but we've already tried them. There is a large dog playground that even our two oddballs like to stop by.

Like today, when a big black mixed-breed dog welcomed us. Her owner Ney from Uruguay introduced her to us as Luni. Later two Swedes came along, both called Lennart but looking different. With your dogs it's exactly the opposite. They're called Shaggy and Jack, but they look exactly the same. No wonder, they are brothers too. That was a fun round.

We have met many wonderful people here in the past few days. We're moving on, but no matter where we end up, I'm sure we'll make interesting acquaintances there too, who we'd be happy to introduce to you.
