After a tropical night in the motorhome, there was birdsong and seagull cries to wake up to.
Mom took a short walk by the lake and enjoyed the beautiful view of the small boat harbor and the lake. After a hearty breakfast, we headed towards the sea. The 11 km route to Wassenaar was manageable despite the warm temperatures. There were a total of 3 small hills to conquer, otherwise it was flat land. greetings to Grandma Peti at this point...you would also get on a bike here. The paths are well signposted and the cycle path is 2 lanes and parallel to the road. As tourists, we noticed 2 special things: we all wore a helmet and despite an average speed of 20 km/h, we were an obstacle to the experienced locals who had to overtake us. This also works with oncoming traffic and without a clear view.
When we arrived at the beach, it was low tide at around 10 am. Conveniently for us, there was only knee-deep water for about 20 meters. In the afternoon at 3:30 pm, the tide came in and the adults could also cool off without having to walk a long distance.
Finn was thrilled with the waves, shells, and building sandcastles and needed a 2-hour nap to recharge his battery.
Thanks to the cloudless sky, we had temperatures of over 35 degrees at lunchtime and felt like sardines in a tin can in our beach tent as we sought some shade.
All in all, a wonderful day at the beach, just like in a picture book.
