Today we had planned a city tour in Nepal's capital. We walked from the hotel to Durbar Square. This "square" consists of a large collection of palaces and temples and is a World Heritage Site. Many buildings are still marked by the devastating earthquake in 2015 and the reconstruction is progressing slowly. A "walk" through Kathmandu is very interesting but extremely exhausting. The air pollution is enormous and the traffic is huge. There are shops and market stalls everywhere offering all sorts of things. A completely different world that overwhelms a Central European! We are glad that we are back in our hotel in the early afternoon and take a short lunch break. At around 4 p.m., our taxi starts again towards the airport through the evening traffic chaos. After midnight, we land in Dubai and take a taxi (a Tesla) to the hotel. A day of tremendous contrasts!
