My journey to Southeast Asia begins with a tour of Germany. This is not only to start off relaxed, but also to visit friends, acquaintances, and family.
First, I was in Czech Republic, Krumlov, for the third time canoeing with fourteen people on the first weekend of July. We paddled along the beautiful Vltava in moderate weather.
After that, I spent two days in Darmstadt with my sister. We watched the Heinerfest closing fireworks and met my good friend Marc.
In the next two days in Cologne, I was hanging out with my Dutch friend William. The very humid weather drove us to Agrippa Baths. Recommendable for any season.
Thanks to my BahnCard 100, I spontaneously considered going to Sylt, but 7.5 hours is just too much. Therefore, I decided on Berlin to avoid Hamburg due to the G20 riots.
Had a Uruguayan meal and enjoyed fine cocktails with my old classmate Martin from Dieburg.
The next day, cycled through Grunewald Park all the way to Wannsee and back via Kurfürstendamm. A total of 4.5 hours on the road.
In the hostel, I met a Vietnamese-American of my age and we had a simple but delicious doner in Moabit.
Today, Sunday the 9th, arrived in Zingst and taking a break for several days to escape the big cities and continue planning my long journey.
Met two elderly women from Munich who traveled the wide world, including Syria, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and even India with only 500 million inhabitants, as school friends in the 1960s, before the numerous wars destroyed so much. What a unique opportunity that must have been.
