The day has come without thinking about it. We still can't believe it, but today we are leaving Canada.
This means that the first major stage of our journey is now behind us.
It's a strange feeling and we're lost for words.
We are currently crossing from Victoria to Port Angeles on the ferry. We will be on the water for about an hour. A little time for us to recap our experiences.
On May 1, 2022, we crossed the Atlantic and arrived in New York. We were excited when we picked up our new home in Washington D.C. We took our time to get used to the motorhome and understand that we are now world travelers. That means we have TIME! Time for ourselves and the children. Time to experience new countries and cultures. Time that we want to make use of.
And a lot has happened since then. We made it all the way to Newfoundland in the East and then drove across the country to Alaska.
This means in numbers:
☆ 116 days behind us
☆ ~17,000 km traveled
☆ Passed through 10 provinces in Canada
☆ Visited 12 national parks
☆ Walked and hiked for 635 km
☆ That's equivalent to 908,500 steps
☆ Crossed the USA <-> Canada border 6 times and
☆ Already celebrated 2 birthdays
In the 3.5 months, we experienced an incredible amount in a short amount of time. One highlight followed another and we can say that it was the right time for us to embark on such an adventure. We are happy, carefree, and bonded as a family.
We're excited to see what the western United States has in store for us. We want to see volcanoes, go swimming at beaches, and explore the most beautiful cities.
The journey is our destination!
