I explored the city a little. And I have to say, even though there's a lot going on now (which is probably the weekend too), I really like it here. I visited a church, a park and walked through various shopping streets. There is a lot to discover. Afterwards I went to my accommodation and the owner Juan was super friendly. And the Covent Garden Hostel is really centrally located. I'm in a 4-bed room, as requested, I have a lower bed. I got a towel and just took a shower. Bed is comfortable and everything else is in good condition. I am more than happy. I'm currently planning my route for tomorrow and I'm going to try out a burger place right away, because there are a few of them here.
I could have stayed in bed, but I got over my bullshit and got out. It was full, partly because it was lunchtime. I found the burger joint looking at it from the outside. But appearances were deceptive. The boss told me that the store had only been around for 2 years. There are between 10-14 different burgers and they specialize in smash patties, which means that the meat patties are pressed flat. I ordered 'La Toxica' with a spicy sauce, caramelized onions, cheddar and double meat. The burger bun was buttery soft and all the components fit together well. The fries were ok and with skin on, but unsalted. I would give the burger an 8.5/10, although I can also point out that the meat patties weren't that thin and there weren't many roasted flavors. Sated, I went to the cathedral and looked for a café with a good view and watched the hustle and bustle. Some people have a problem going to a café and restaurant alone, let alone on vacation alone, but I like it. I enjoy the atmosphere. Before that I spoke to a friend on the phone. Then I went to the accommodation, but somehow everyone flew out. I'll go out again later, maybe eat something and then try to sleep early because there's another longer stage tomorrow.
I went out again and it's always amazing how different the laws are in other countries. Many restaurants here are closed at lunchtime or do not offer food during this period, but only open at 8 p.m. That's why I just walked around town and grabbed a little snack. At the accommodation I packed for tomorrow, ate and went to bed.
Let's see what the day will be like tomorrow. In general, I think it's a bit of a shame that there are so few pilgrims on the road, but I chose the time and generally I prefer it that way to having too many people on the road. I'll try to sleep in church hostels more often in the next few days, because there is often a communal meal there. I also booked my return flight. He goes from Asturias to Weeze on November 27th. I think or hope that I have made it by then and then, if I have enough time, I have various options: Camino Inglés, Camino to Finisterre. Just chill for a few days or visit a few cities. But one by one. First this way. I'll get back to you tomorrow as usual.
