On the way to Arthur's Pass, the gateway from the South Island to the West Coast, we spent a few beautiful days at one of our favorite campsites in New Zealand, Lake Camp.
We were here in early October already, but last time we got completely soaked and had to walk back to the van for a few kilometers in pouring rain from Mt. Guy.
This time we had bright sunshine, freshly caught fish for lunch, bonfires every evening, and even marshmallows and sausages. Despite the really cold water, we went swimming in the lake every day.
There is absolutely no cell phone reception there and honestly, it feels really good to completely disconnect.
