We are already spending the 5th day in Japan and we are all fascinated by this beautiful country and our travel companion, Miyuki!
We started the day with a delicious breakfast at a bakery near the hotel. We strolled through the Nishiki Market in light rain, some of us were able to buy an umbrella, which came in handy throughout the day. After that, we took a bus to the Kinkakuji Temple, which looked enchanting in the rain. Miyuki used to work as a guide here.
We had lunch at a Kaiten-Sushi restaurant.
In these restaurants, the dishes are offered on a revolving conveyor belt.
We then visited another temple (Ryoanji Temple) after lunch. The Kyoto tram took us to Arashiyama. An impressive bamboo forest, the Tenryuji Temple (World Heritage Site), and crossing the 155-meter-long Togetsukyo Bridge rounded off the impressive afternoon in the western hills of Kyoto.
In the evening, we spent time with Miyuki's sister and her family at a delicious Izakaya dinner. And, as we were already used to in this type of dining, we took off our shoes and climbed over the benches to our seats.
