Welcome to my travel blog from Mexico!
Those who know me know that I'm not a natural-born writer. Nevertheless, I will share my impressions here at irregular intervals and accompany them with some photos.
My journey started last Thursday. After a final coffee in the shared apartment with Simon, Markus kindly drove me to Frankfurt airport (thanks again!). After checking in, there was the first pleasant surprise: there were still seats available in premium economy. Driven by the fear of spending 12 hours without legroom, I immediately ran to the counter and was lucky enough to get one of the last seats. And indeed, I was able to stretch my legs and even enjoy the flight a little with cocktails and a gourmet menu.
In Cancun, I touched Mexican ground for the first time. After successfully entering the country, I had about 4 hours to explore the airport. It immediately caught my attention that I seemed to be the only person with blond hair and over 1.80 meters tall here! But more on that another time.
Subsequently, I had another flight of about 2.5 hours to Mexico City or CDMX. The flight was anything but pleasant due to heavy thunderstorms and high mountains, but we landed safely. I then traveled the last leg of my journey in a taxi and finally arrived at my new place after a good 24 hours. After a brief scrutiny from our security service, I was allowed into the house, took the elevator (!), and went up to my apartment. There, I was warmly welcomed by my new flatmate Eduardo. After he realized in shock that he had no more beer in the fridge, we quickly went to get some and then had a little chat. It should be mentioned at this point that Mexican beer is not that bad!
So that's it for my first entry. Before starting work this Thursday, you will certainly hear from me again.
Greetings
