This time we took care of everything in advance. The decision was whether to start the road trip from our home or fly to Oslo and start from there. We compared prices, calculated everything, collected pros and cons, weighed them, and finally made a decision.

The decision was made -> we start from home. But with what? So let's go into the detailed search.

There is a very competent mobile home center near us. The nice gentleman who helped us with advice and support during the consultation was a bit surprised that we knew exactly what we needed and wanted.

Don't get us wrong, we really liked our little car in Iceland, but it lacked some comfort. We can tell you that at -5 degrees in Iceland's Westfjords, it can get pretty damn cold at night without a heater.

But you learn from experience and that's a good thing. We also had too many wrong things with us and too few of the right ones. We want to do all of that better this time.

Back to our new companion for the road trip of our lives 2.0. It will be a Fiat Ducato 540 with everything a little fine traveling heart desires. Heater - seating area - kitchenette (no more cooking outside in the rain) - more space - bicycle rack - and even a small bathroom :-) Television and stuff like WIFI will stay outside, after all, we want to go on vacation.

So now the camper was set. 2 weeks ago we quickly booked the ferries. We completed travel insurance and other small stuff. We read travel guides and blogs. The money also had to be transferred. We quickly bought a few more functional clothes because the old ones had served their purpose. There's so much to think about.

Our advantage this time is that we can buy the basic groceries at home at a cheaper price and don't have to buy them overpriced in the destination country. So let's start the shopping list. Every day we think of something else. However, we still have some time left until we start.
