Bamberg, also known as the Franconian Rome, is definitely worth a visit. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it attracts numerous visitors, in my opinion, rightfully so.
Situated on the arms of the Regnitz and between the seven hills - Domberg, Michelsberg, Kaulberg, Stephansberg, Jakobsberg, Altenburg, and Abtsberg - lies the picturesque town of Bamberg. The picturesque alleys of the old town and the cozy promenade along the river, like little Venice, invite you to take a stroll. The view of the monastery is beautiful. The small shops on the upper and lower bridge also invite you to take a leisurely stroll.
Of course, a detour to Sandstrasse should not be missed, from where you can climb directly to the cathedral via a staircase. Right next to it are the old court residence and the beautiful, almost enchanted rose garden. The view over the city and the vineyards below the monastery are breathtaking!
