Rusted stone

Pubblicato: 14.11.2023

...at least that's what the bus driver called Uluru (Ayers Rock).

The earth and rocks in the outback are so red because of the high iron content, which rusts in the air.

Before I started the trip, I needed new shoes: the most important criterion - not white, not on the shoe and not in the sole. Well, the shoes are now gray-green and the soles are gray, but now everything is still red 😀 .

Today it's time for the trip to Uluru. I'm going on another guided excursion in a small group with a local guide (this time from Argentina 😅). His first question is: "Are you hot?" "Yeah" "Oh, it's only 36 degrees, that's nothing!" 😃

We drive into the national park and Uluru cannot be overlooked, all alone, but it stands very powerfully. Surrounded by flat land. Awesome. For the Aborigines, Uluru is a sacred place, so it is forbidden to take photos in many places. The mountain looks shaped, as if created by an architect and not by nature.

At the end of the day we drove to the Sunset parking lot. Unfortunately the sunset fell victim to the clouds, but I still had a nice view of the mountain.
