The sea of stars

Pubblicato: 17.12.2023

Today was really a day! Such a really annoying day! Although the day started well. I saw a Manuka bush today 😀. For such small flowers, the result is really delicious honey. By the way, you can buy Manuka honey in the supermarket here at quite reasonable prices. In the souvenir shops it costs almost as much as in Germany 😀.

After the manuka plant, a supermarket made me happy. A supermarket with parking spaces for campers! Normally I always need 2 parking spaces one behind the other and it's best to have one side next to it free, then I can easily get into the gap. But here in Frankton there is a supermarket that provides extra large parking spaces - a dream.

After that, however, the nightmare began. During the journey the refrigerator opened by itself several times and all the food rolled through the car 🙄. I couldn't stop straight away and had to wait every time until there was a place to stop. Then look for everything again and put it away again - drive on and boom, the game starts again. This happened to me several times while driving...

I actually wanted to do freedom cmaping at a lake today, but when I got there there wasn't a soul there. But I didn't want to be alone, so I spontaneously rescheduled and drove to my destination for tomorrow: Lake Pukaki. Also a freedom camping site right on the lake with a view of Mt. Cook.

Once there, we had to cook very quickly. And that's when the next hurdle came into play: today everything is falling down on me 🙄🙄. Open the cupboard - bang, everything falls out...

Just a nervous day! But really!

The view over the lake and Mt. Cook is really nice. There is no light pollution up here in the Alps (South Alps)! I'm actually really tired, but somehow I'm holding on. I finally want to see stars. At 11 p.m. the time has come. There are sooooo many stars in the sky. Simply amazing! Unfortunately I can't get them photographed very well 🤷🏼‍♀️. By the way, the picture isn't black - when it's completely dark, you can see the stars in it... But it's much more beautiful in real life 😃.
