In Puerto Jimenez we stayed at the Corcovado Beach Lodge Hostel/Hotel. It's a beautiful facility right by the water, but a bit remote. But hey, we have a rental car, so no problem for us ;D Oh, watch out for the low ceiling fans. Patrick got his thumb caught in the fan twice. The second time it looked really dramatic because there was blood everywhere. Even the wall was splattered :D But don't worry, his finger is still intact.
In the evening, we went out for pizza and did some research on what we can do here. Beach and national park, just like in every other town ;)
We decided to visit Playa Pan dulce and Matapalo. Both beaches are very beautiful and quite peaceful because there are hardly any tourists around. Well, you can't really get there without a car :D Somehow, I got into climbing, I had to climb everything. Oh, big rocks, let me climb up, oh, a tree, let me climb it too :D It was definitely a lovely day at the beach and hopefully I didn't turn red instead of getting a tan.
We initially planned to visit Corcovado National Park in Drake Bay, so we went to La Leona Lodge. It's a hotel right on the beach with private hiking trails. For around 20 dollars, you get some food and access to the facilities and trails. Really nice, but I don't want to know how much one night costs here :) You don't see any animals here, but it was a nice walk and the two viewpoints had a great view.
