Packing suitcases for the first time since we moved. We are going to Hamburg to visit Lieselotte Thiele-Dehnert. In our luggage, we have a rake, a shovel, and work gloves, among other things. We want to make the Dehnert family grave visible and protect it against leveling by the cemetery administration.
The journey goes surprisingly quickly because the regional express train does not make any intermediate stops due to construction work and rushes from Spandau to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. This may be the first time that construction work brings something good, except for those who wanted to go to Stendhal.
The first surprise in Hamburg: It is 5 degrees warmer than in Berlin, and people are sitting outside everywhere, enjoying the last beautiful time before the election results.
We experience this on the ferry from the museum port Övelgönne. You simply have to turn off your mobile phone.
Nevertheless, we enjoy the food and the wine at the Fischerhaus directly on the Elbe riverbank, and as always, we are happy that there are still such traditional local restaurants with competent service.
On the way home, we see the final counts in polling district 227/4. It doesn't look like enthusiasm.
