On the island of Ile de ré, holiday vibes came already on the super long bridge that connects the island to the mainland. Beautiful weather, great beaches, and lots of nature. Last night we treated ourselves to a campsite there for the first time (you have to shower after all..) and *premiere* set up our camping equipment with chairs, table, and sunshade. I felt like a real camper, even though most others of course have much fatter boxes with a television and everything else. But that's somehow strange! Getting by with less is somehow the appealing thing. However, you are then immediately faced with a big challenge when something breaks, like our storage net, which was stretched and torn full of bed linen. With our great French skills, we tried to ask a nice canned fish seller where we could buy a net. After she fetched other sellers from the surrounding boutiques and all together puzzled what we were looking for, a customer who had been waiting for us for half an eternity could translate. Unfortunately, the well-meant tips have not led to the goal so far and we are still looking for a 'filet'.
Well, after a nice walk on the beach, we looked at the very beautiful harbor town of Saint Martin. We almost stayed longer on this beautiful island, which was recommended to us by my dear Any and where she goes on vacation every year, but we are drawn further south :)
