Water from above. Cold from below. That's where #Borg and the Viking Museum come in handy. Here you can see the remains of the largest Viking longhouse ever found. It has been reconstructed (just twenty meters away) and real dressed-up people allow you to glimpse into the everyday life of the Vikings, who are often wrongly seen as brutal. Even in Corona times, the museum sheds light on this peculiar people, their beliefs, rules, and laws, armed with your own smartphone and headphones. A (highly dramatic) film completes the whole thing. It is definitely very well done and the translators have done a great job (many languages, good explanations, and the sound of turning pages when listening to the audios are fun).
By the way, the house was something similar to a fortress. All the 'soldiers' of the region lived here, along with sheep and cows and of course the Jarls' family. As the movie told us, the landlord did not want to submit under Harald Fairhair and fled to Iceland. Harald Fairhair, another funny guy: he swore that he would not comb and cut his hair and beard again until he united all the Viking tribes under him, so that they could rebel against the Danes. He succeeded, even with ugly hair.

Afterwards, we are already on our way to Eggum, because like the ponies of the museum, we find the ongoing drizzle annoying. There we hope for better weather, but unfortunately we don't get it. Eggum welcomes us in a fog bank and we decide to camp a little further inland. It's a pity, because we can't explore the coastal path that starts in Eggum.
