Since the weather was not supposed to be good on Saturday, we decided to sleep in.
Then, in rainy weather, we made our way to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Here, the history of the discovery of the atomic bomb, the dropping of the atomic bomb, and its aftermath are portrayed. Additionally, there are many eyewitness accounts. These were very interesting and exciting, but also so frightening that I couldn't look at many of them.
Since the whole experience was mentally disturbing, we took a break for lunch and resumed the visit after a lunch break.
In the second part, the history of Hiroshima was the focus.
The last part of the exhibition featured objects from people who did not survive the atomic bomb.
Particularly touching were, for example, a school uniform and the tricycle of a little boy, as well as the cranes and clothing of Sadako Sasaki.
On Sunday morning, we originally planned to continue our journey to Toyama. However, Typhoon Trami had other plans and many train lines were closed. Therefore, we were forced to stay in Hiroshima for another day and rest a bit from the past few days. Hoping that the trains will be running again tomorrow and we can continue our trip.
