Day 7 (2024) Sea World Abu Dhabi & Yas Bay

Visited Highlights:

• Sea World Abu Dhabi 

=> the world's largest theme park dedicated to marine life! There are over 100,000 sea creatures, plenty of rides, shows, and interactive performances; Sea World is located on Yas Island, directly adjacent to Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World, and Warner Bros. at Yas Mall.

After breakfast, the visit to Sea World in Abu Dhabi is planned.

When I was here last year, it hadn’t opened yet in October.

With my Dubai Pass, entry was included - or at least that’s what I was told when booking.

When we show our code at Sea World to exchange it for a ticket (which has worked flawlessly in the water parks so far), I now get an error message and a staff member informs me that Sea World is no longer included in the pass since October.

Whaaaaat??????

Sea World had the highest admission price, which is why we opted for the pass. Wow, I’m really annoyed! A chat with the Dubai Pass provider confirms that Sea World is 'unfortunately' no longer included. Since I bought the pass back in April, this is now 'unfortunate' and 'bad luck.'

Unfortunately, we have no choice but to buy a regular ticket now. I get a tip at the ticket counter to handle it 'online'; that's a few Dirhams cheaper. However, we still end up spending a hefty 100 € per person. Very frustrating!!!

But it won't help. We walk through the large hall, where a 360-degree screen awaits us. We’ve seen this already at the Warner Bros Park. Superlative here. Entrances from the main hall lead into different 'worlds' like 'Endless Ocean', 'St. Francis Church', 'Antarctica', and 'Tropical Ocean'.

We start in the Polar Sea and Antarctica, where it’s actually freezing cold around the penguins! You should definitely have a jacket here - or, like us - run through Penguin World very quickly 😅🥶

We explore all areas, check out the various shows (Sea Lion, Dolphin), ride the 'Manta' roller coaster, and spend a lot of time in the Endless Ocean with the huge 'Endless Vista' window, which is 20 m high. The 'Endless Ocean' aquarium in SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is the largest and deepest multi-species aquarium in the world, holding 25 million liters of water.

Sea World is indeed gigantic. Unfortunately, many of the animal enclosures are quite small (walruses and flamingos, for example) and I wouldn't need the dolphins either....

Although the aquarium is touted as one of the superlatives - yes, there are really incredibly many animals swimming around here - but due to the 'futuristic design' everything feels rather bleak. I miss the colors, the corals, and kind of that 'certain something'. I actually find the aquarium at Atlantis more beautiful.

After dinner, we take a taxi to Yas Bay for the four of us. Tonight is 'Ladies Night', and we want to spend it - as we have in the past years - at 'Lock, Stock & Barrel'. It’s incredible; women can really drink whatever they want! Everything! For free! At least between 8 PM and 11 PM. We took advantage of this the last few times, and today we also sample various 'Ladies Night' cocktails before I switch to the 'simple' whiskey cola. As always, the atmosphere is very lively here; from 9:30 PM on, there's no stopping, and dancing begins, the DJ gives it his all, and the mood is fantastic!

Around midnight, we take a taxi back home.

This was another really cool day!
