Hey everyone :)
So, let's start with yesterday :):
We took a Grab to Patong and went to Bangla Road. But first, we walked to a side street where we had dinner. Then it was time to party! First stop was the Tiger Nightclub where we had a few shots. Since we were already here, we also had to see one of the legendary Ping Pong Shows. Well, we won't go into detail about what this is... Most of you will know what we mean ;).
To be honest, each of us had a slightly different idea of what to expect - but none of us expected what actually happened... The female employees were neither special nor motivated at all. Honestly, it was a total disappointment and in our opinion, not worth seeing. We left the show after about 20 minutes and went to the next bar. After that, we walked the rest of the street and decided to go back to the "Tiger". Around 2am, we took a "Party-TukTuk", which were everywhere. The ride back was probably the best part of the whole evening! We could connect our music to the vehicle's sound system and had our own little ego party the whole way back. When we arrived at the villa, it didn't take long and we all went to bed (by the way, it was already 4am :)).
Now about today:
The alarm clock rang at 9am and we managed to get out of bed around 9:30am. Roman and Tiziana were already up before us :). We packed everything, cleaned up a bit, returned the scooters, and checked out of the villa at 10:45am. Our host organized a transfer to the pier where a boat was supposed to take us to Koh Phi Phi. The taxi was really special! It was a VIP transfer, the ceiling of the vehicle was drawn like a real sky, all the details were golden, and it had a generally fancy impression :). But when we arrived at the pier, we realized that our ferry was leaving from a different port! We booked a ride on the speedboat instead, and the organizer arranged a transfer to the right port. After about 40 minutes of driving, we only had to wait 10 minutes at the pier and we could already board our boat. It didn't go as fast as we expected... But still, it was pretty fast (about 50-60 km/h with 750 horsepower). After another 45 minutes, we finally reached our destination: Koh Phi Phi Island. At first, it was really crowded there! So many people in such a small area! Later, when all the day trippers left, it calmed down thankfully. First, we had something to eat and then we made our way to our hostel. We had a 15-20 minute walk ahead of us, with all our luggage on our backs and a steep incline. When we arrived at the hostel, we were so drenched that we could have wrung out our shirts! We were greeted very friendly and taken to our bungalows. We really like it here! The accommodation is much more modest than what we had before, but it's really cute and cheap (CHF 134.- for two nights and four people - that's two bungalows)! After a short shower break, we met again to go to the beach. Since it was low tide at that time, the water didn't look very inviting. It was brown and the ground was completely muddy. So, we decided to go to another beach: Monkey Beach. Yeah, these monkeys somehow got to us a little bit :). But as it turned out, you can't go there on foot... Typical us, we asked a local with a boat how much he would charge for a little trip to the beach. After a short negotiation, we agreed on CHF 10.- per person for a 3-hour ride. The boat itself was really cool! We enjoyed the ride and we were already at our destination after a short time. There, we watched the monkeys for a while and saw how they jumped on and scratched another tourist who got too close to them. From the outside, the whole scene was really funny! One monkey even climbed onto our boat! Our driver smiled - until he realized that the monkey was actually on the boat! Then he got a little hectic and chased the monkey away. We laughed so hard at his reaction!
After the beach, we drove a bit further to go snorkeling and then to another stop to watch the sunset. It was a beautiful, relaxed, and fun trip! We enjoyed it from start to finish! In the end, we also arranged another trip with him for tomorrow. We will go around the whole island with him - for less money for the four of us than it normally costs per couple!
Right on the beach, we had dinner. The restaurant was sooooo nice!!! Beautifully lit and looked very inviting. Then the food came. It was absolutely amazing! Definitely one of the top restaurants we've been to so far!
On the way back, we made a quick stop at a fish foot spa. There, we put our feet into a kind of aquarium and the fish were supposed to eat away the dead skin. We didn't really notice a difference afterwards, but they tickled us the whole time and once again, we had one laughing fit after another.
Now it's midnight and we're all sitting outside on our balcony, enjoying the evening.
And once again we say:
See you tomorrow! :)
Oh yeah... We probably won't be able to share the pictures today, but we'll do our best to show them to you as soon as possible ;)
