Hi guys!
This morning Roman and Tiziana landed at the airport in Phuket. The two of them landed a whole hour earlier than we expected! It was a bit awkward because when they called us saying they were outside the airport, we were still in bed! We hastily packed our things and set off. Next fail: The reception only opened at 9 o'clock, which was too late for us! That's why we decided not to use the key deposit - it's only CHF 6.-, but here you really learn to appreciate each penny. At least that's already a whole meal with a drink in the restaurant :)
Anyway, let's continue! We couldn't get a taxi via Grab that wanted to drive us! Everyone said it was too far! So we just started walking, hoping for the best. And actually! After just a few minutes, a taxi stopped and at least took us to the airport. When we got in, we noticed that there was already a passenger inside! It seems like that's not an issue here. Our driver drove like a maniac and somehow we weren't even angry when we were finally allowed to get off at the airport. Luckily, we found the two of them right away and everyone was satisfied.
We continued with a new taxi to a cute restaurant that was on the way. Since we could only check into the villa at 1 p.m., we had to kill some time. That worked out well because it was already 11 a.m. and everyone was slowly getting hungry. After the meal (nice with Mojitos as it had become the norm :)), we showed the two of them the Lion's Bar, which is right next to the restaurant. They also liked the view and the relaxed atmosphere. Shortly afterwards, we were able to continue driving to our villa.
We had to wait for about 10 more minutes, but then everything went super smoothly! The host opened the door and the first thing that caught our eye was the gigantic private pool. Then we went into the kitchen/living area, into room 1, into room 2, and into another separate room number 3. Each room has its own bathroom and a huge window front directly facing the pool. It's really fantastic here!
Of course, we immediately tested the pool water (which, to be honest, is somehow strange... Not typical chlorine... More like it still has salt in it) and enjoyed the outdoor area of the villa. Meanwhile, Roman and Tiziana lay down for a while - of course, they had been awake for more than 30 hours now because they couldn't sleep on the plane either. In the meantime, Kevin and I went out and organized two scooters. We were able to take one immediately, and we can pick up the second one a bit later as it is still on the way. We bought a few small things (a kind of basic equipment for the kitchen), cola, iced tea, water, and something salty to snack on and made our way back.
After about another hour, we woke the two of them up from their deep sleep and went out for dinner. We ordered so much that we could hardly see the table! We felt like perfect Russians! However, we ate everything except for a tiny bit. It all tasted sooooo delicious! On the way back, we picked up a second scooter. There was no one left where we got the first scooter from, which was supposed to call us... So much is worth a word here... Anyway, we found another one for the same price. A quick stop at the 7-Eleven to buy a few more groceries and back to the villa. Tonight, we will enjoy the pool, have a few drinks, and spend time together. :)
Until tomorrow!
