Māori culture

After I actually didn't have to work today, I still went to school in the afternoon because the children really wanted me to come to their concert.

My first thought was actually 'oh no, do I have to?' but after I was there, I really liked it, seeing the children like that. I also met some people from the village, who are all very old as I already mentioned, but they were all excited when they heard that I'm from Germany.

Then the concert started, or rather the small singing performance. They sang in Māori. At first, I had to hold back my laughter a bit because it sounded very funny. But soon after, I was impressed.

But it was a really great experience.

You should know that I'm here with a Māori family. It's something different.

You would think that I would witness some strange ceremonies and dances, but no. Just a 'normal' family like yours and mine.

Oh, and a little side note: Schafe = sheep. Also in plural, and it's not sheeps. 🙈😅

And what I find nice is that New Zealand's Air Force has the Kiwi bird as its logo, a flightless bird.
